How we ensure quality from registration to invoicing

Ensuring that all crossings are accurately recorded is the very foundation of our revenue streams and society’s trust in Fjellinjen.

Fjellinjen is responsible for 83 toll stations which on average register 1.2 million toll crossings every single day.

Consequently, a lot of work goes into ensuring that everything we do, from registering toll crossings at our toll stations to invoicing, is performed to the highest possible standard.

The registered crossing is entered into a national data core system operated by the Norwegian Public Roads Administration. This system is connected to the Norwegian Vehicle Register. The national core system matches the toll crossing with the owner of the vehicle and sends the results back to Fjellinjen.

Registered toll crossings made by foreign-registered vehicles will be entered into a secure network which the individual countries’ vehicle registers use to identify the vehicle’s owner.

The owner of the vehicle is invoiced for the toll crossing.

AutoPASS subscription or full-price customer

At Fjellinjen, we distinguish between AutoPASS customers and full-price customers. If the registered car has a valid AutoPASS subscription, the national core system will identify the name of your AutoPASS subscription provider, who will then send you an invoice.

All toll crossings are recorded as a single transaction. Details of the time, place and price of the crossing will then be sent to your AutoPASS subscription provider. Your AutoPASS subscription provider will also be informed of the discount on the toll crossing and the monthly cap.

You can see an overview of all AutoPASS providers here.

Vehicles without an AutoPASS subscription are charged full-price. The relevant toll company is responsible for invoicing and collecting tolls from full-price customers.

Full-price customers do not qualify for the monthly cap or a 20 per cent discount per crossing.
