One-hour rule and monthly cap

How the one-hour rule and monthly cap work at our toll stations.

What is the monthly cap?

With an AutoPASS subscription, a monthly cap applies which limits the number of crossings you have to pay for in a particular area each month. From 1 June 2019, you pay for a maximum of 60 crossings on the City Border and a maximum of 120 crossings on the Oslo Ring and Inner Ring.

What is the one-hour rule?

All motorists only pay for one toll crossing per hour on the Inner Ring and the Oslo Ring, and for one toll crossing per hour on the City Border. You will be invoiced for the most expensive crossing.

In practice, this means that if you drive from, for example, Lillestrøm to central Oslo, you only pay for two crossings, even if you pass several toll stations. This rule applies to all motorists.

As of 1 September 2023, you no longer need an AutoPASS subscription and tag to benefit from the one-hour rule at Fjellinjen’s toll stations.
